Info: A herbaceous rhizomatous perennial herb, spearmint is used fresh, dried or frozen. Mint can be preserved in salt, sugar, alcohol or oil. The leaves loses most of its aroma after its flower blooms, thus, the leaves are cut just before the flower opens. Spearmint is often cultivated for its carminative oil.
