This is a delicious mid-day snack or a simple side for dinner. The sumac adds an earthy and lemony flavor and the brussels sprouts develop a delicious caramelized crunch.
3 cups of brussels sprouts, cut in half
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons organic sumac
1 teaspoon lemon juice
fleur de sel sea salt, for finishing
Add coconut oil to the bottom of a large frying pan over high heat, until the oil just coats the bottom of the pan. Toss brussels sprouts in salt and sumac and place face down onto the pan. Once brussels sprouts begin to caramelize, pull them off of the heat and plate. Drizzle brussels sprouts with lemon juice and sprinkle with sea salt.
