Does organic really matter for something as small as spices?

The reason spices are so small, is because they're so concentrated. Spice companies take a large amount of fresh produce and shrink it to a much smaller size, by drying them. This concentrates the things you want, like flavor, and also the things you don't want, like pesticides and other chemicals. With Spicely USDA Certified Organic spices, you get all of the flavor, and none of the bad stuff.

Do Spicely products have any gluten in them at all?

No. We use a dedicated, gluten free facility and our products are certified gluten free by the GIG. Our spices not only contain no gluten, but also never come in contact with any other ingredients that do. Now that's piece of mind.

Is there any chance of them coming in contact with nuts?

No. Spicely uses our own facilities and none of our products contain any nuts at all.

What about soy / dairy / eggs?

There's none of these in any of our products, for the same reason. We use our own facilities and don't allow any ingredients containing these things in.

Do Spicely spices contain sugar or sweeteners?

No. Spicely products don't contain any sweeteners either natural or synthetic. All flavor in Spicely products comes straight from where it should. Our spices.

Who is your Kosher Certifier?

The Orthodox Rabbinic Council of San Francisco

What exactly do you mean by fair trade?

We have an entire Ethical Sourcing Statement, which we recommend that you read, if you're interested. In a nutshell, we require our suppliers to avoid forced and child labor, discrimination, unsafe work environments, substandard wages and other practices sometimes used to produce other products. By choosing Spicely, you're choosing to support a healthier, fairer world for everyone. It doesn't get much better tasting than that.
