Our Organic Whole Black Peppercorns are derived from the fruit of the pepper plant, more properly known as Piper Nigrum. These tiny fruits grow on a climbing vine, like grapes in clusters. The secret to the robust taste of our premium pepper, is that they areåÊ hand picked when they are not quite ripe, the time when they boast the most firm notes of their irresistible flavors. They are then immediately dried until the fruit shrivels and the skin turns dark brown to black, preserving the fruits aromatic and flavor properties. There are three types of peppercorns, black, white and green, of which, black pepper has the strongest flavor and aroma -slightly hot with a hint of peppered sweetness.

One tip is to add our black peppercorns last to dishes that take a long cooking time, cooking too long reduces the flavor quality, adding the black peppercorns near the end of the cooking process will ensure the excellent flavors are preserved. For dishes intended for pan-searing or grilling, the black peppercorns can be added just prior to the cooking process.
