Are The Containers Safe For Food?

We are mindful of not only the quality of our products, but what we package them in - our tins are food grade and the plastic containers (Sous Chef and Master Chef) are BPA free.

Are Your Spice Facilities Soy / Dairy / Eggs-Free?

There is no soy, dairy or eggs in any of our spice products. We use our own facilities and don't allow any ingredients that might contaminate our products inside.

Do Spicely Spices or Seasonings Contain Salt or Sugar?

No. Spicely products don't contain any sweeteners either natural or synthetic. All the flavor in Spicely products comes straight from where it should: our spices.

Do You Ship Abroad?

Is The Weight Shown By Weight Or Volume?

The weights displayed next to the packaging options are reflective of the volume and will vary from product to product. For example, herbs will be much lighter and therefore will have less weight, though you are still getting the same amount.

Additionally, the weight are reflective of the product and does not include packaging.

At this time, we do not have a back-ordering system in place. You may reorder out of stock items at a later date.

Pressure Seal Information

Occasionally, the seals on our Sous Chef, Master Chef, and Jars come off; this is normal when twisting off the cap. Among others, there are a few well-known methods to apply liners on bottles and jars in the food industry.

  1. Pressure sensitive line (which you may notice a white liner under the cap)
  2. Heat seal (passing the products through a heat tunnel to apply the liner)
  3. Radiation
We chose pressure sensitive lines for the following reasons, in spite of it not being able to create a 100% tight closure.

  1. Pressure sensitive lines are the most environmentally friendly of the three options. They require less use of energy to make.
  2. Unlike pressure sensitive liners, heat or radiation may change the property of the spices and incur additional production costs—as a result, increases to customers’ price.
  3. Organics are limited to exposure. We cannot irradiate according to USDA NOP regulations.
Please note that we are aggressively researching to get help from industry professional for a new, safe, environment friendly solution to apply the closure.

We have a large variety of spices and seasonings available through various channels to purchase. If the product you are looking for is not on our website, you may purchase third party through Amazon or a retail store.

Are Spicely Spices Gluten-Free?

Yes! We use a dedicated, gluten-free facility and our products are certified gluten-free by the GIG. Our spices not only contain no gluten, but also never come in contact with any other ingredients that do. Now that's peace of mind.

Do You Carry Organic Salt?

Salt is not actually an agricultural product and therefore cannot be certified organic (or else we would!)

Do You Have Organic Cream of Tartar?

Cream of tartar is not actually an agricultural product and therefore cannot be certified organic, though ours is the next best thing and is 100% Potassium Bitartrate.

Does Organic Really Matter For Something As Small As Spices?

The process of drying and grinding spices is a concentration of fresh produce, so we don't think of them as small at all! Since we use the finest ingredients, all the things you don't want, like pesticides and other chemicals, aren't present. With Spicely USDA Certified Organic spices, you get all of the flavor, and none of the bad stuff.

How potent is your vanilla extract (1, 2, 3, 4 fold)?

Our vanilla extract is 2 fold in potency.

What is The Heat Index Of Your Cayenne?

This varies slightly from lot to lot, though typically is between 30-40,000 Skoville Heat Units (SHU)

What Is The Shelf Life of Spices, Herbs and Seasonings?

The shelf life for these products are typically 36 months (3 years) from when they are packaged - which is reflected on the date printed on each product. This is an estimated time frame, as spices generally do not go bad if they are stored properly - a cool, dry place is ideal. They may lose their potency slightly, but are safe to consume. Also to be noted as a general rule of thumb is that whole spices typically last longer than ground.

We do not use any preservatives, nor do we use irradiation to extend the shelf life.

All natural is the way we like it!

What Percent Curcumin is in Your Organic Turmeric?

Curcumin is a curcuminoid, which are natural phenols that are responsible for the yellow color of turmeric and its health benefits. Though it is predominately used as a spice in the US, turmeric is used to treat many health conditions. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and perhaps even anticancer properties.

Our Organic Turmeric is 2-3% Curcumin.

Where Do Your Spices & Herbs Come From?

The majority of our spices come from India. We also partner with farmers in Guatemala, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Germany, China and Peru. All of our in-house blends are from the US. Since our products are Certified Fair Trade, you can rest assured we are working with the best we can find.

Why Is My Organic Onion or Garlic Powder Clumping Up?

It is not old - This is a common occurrence with our onion and garlic powder. No additives, anti-caking agents and a low moisture content are all factors that lead to this type of clumping, and it is simply the nature of the product. Perhaps consider these products in another form such as Organic Onion Granulates & Organic Garlic Granulates.

Refunds & Returns

We 100% guarantee our products. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please reach out to us within 29 days of purchase for a full refund or credit. After this time period, we will work the customer to find a suitable solution.

It is the customer's responsibility to cover return shipping costs for refunds and returns due to accidental orders. We will send return labels for instances regarding product or packaging issues. We are not responsible for damage or loss as a result of shipments being returned to the freight location or being undeliverable as a result of incorrect address information you supply to us, or for inability of a recipient to receive the package on the day you specify that it should be delivered as it is outside of our scope and is to be brought up with the carrier.

If the product is already opened and you would like to return, we unfortunately can not take it back due to food safety issues. We can offer a partial refund of 50% for the opened products.

If you received the wrong item/shipment or if the product was compromised, please let us know as soon as possible at customerservice@spicely.com and attach a picture.

We will then send you an email to notify you when we have received your returned item and issue the applicable refund. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to appear.

Shipping Information

  • Our current method of shipment is with FedEx and USPS.
  • We now offer international shipping! Rates vary based on shipping location and the size of the order. We do not cover any extra customs fees that may apply.
  • FREE SHIPPING ON ORDERS OVER $49. Unfortunately, this does not apply to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
  • Large or heavy orders to Canada may be subject to additional customs fees. Please note that we do not cover any of the customs fees.
  • Shipping prices vary depending on the size of the order and the shipping location.
  • If your order is extremely large (over 20 items or more than 10 pounds) please allow 2-3 business days for our team to pack the order. Please do consider this when selecting an expedited shipping option.
  • Orders received after 9am PSTwill be processed the NEXT DAY, as our business hours are from5:30am-2pm PST and carrier pickup times vary.
  • For any bulk and wholesale purchases, please allow an ADDITIONAL 1-2 days for your items to be shipped, as they are custom packed.
