Turmeric, or Curcuma long, is a spice that spans over many cultures - Indian, Chinese, even American (hint: mustard is not bright yellow). While most people recognize it as a key ingredient in curry powder, turmeric is a standard medicine in East and Southeast Asia (mainly for detox purposes, such as allergies and hangovers). However, it has gained  recent recognition in the western Hemisphere as well.

I have bought several turmeric powders in shaker jars in your store on Market St., San Fran. On the shaker, it says organic. I wonder where the turmeric roots came from before it was made into powder form. Did the roots came from China? Please let me know. Thank you!
