Portobello Mushroom “Steak” Au Poivre

Ingredients
For the "steaks":
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 2 portobello mushrooms
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp of garlic granulates
- ½ oz of butter
For the sauce:
- 1 tbsp of oil
- ½ oz of onion, chopped
- ¼ cup of vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp of heavy cream
- 1 tsp of black pepper
Directions/Instructions:
1 - In a hot pan, add oil and the mushrooms
2 - Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic granulates
3 - Cook the mushrooms for 5 minutes on each side
4 - During the last minute, add in the butter and baste the mushrooms; remove mushrooms & slice into thick strips
5 - For the sauce: in the same pan, add oil and saute the onions
6 - After onions are starting to soften, add in the broth and lower the heat
7 - Add in the cream and black pepper
8 - Cook on low heat until sauce begins to thicken, about 3-4 minutes
9 - Serve by topping the sliced mushrooms with the sauce
